Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have some understanding of food allergies and food hygiene standards. This role involves preparing high-quality meals while adhering to food safety standards and maintaining a clean kitchen environment. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our children. Food Hygiene and allergy training can be offered if not already completed. DBS check will be required (cost covered by nursery) if you are not already registered on the update service.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications. Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of quality. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times including the recording of information required under food hygiene expectations ready for public health inspections. Collaborate with other nursery staff to ensure smooth operations during service periods. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.

Skills

Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Proficient in meal preparation techniques, with the ability to follow recipes accurately. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multitask effectively. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated when required. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
