Overview


Immediate start for an Experienced and qualified cook for our lovely 50 place children's day nursery. You will have sole charge of the kitchen whilst working well within the whole nursery team. You will need to have a positive attitude with a supportive nature towards others. You will need relevant experience in Health, Hygiene and Allergies, and take control of your own learning regarding keeping up with current legislation. Training will be ongoing with 3 paid training days per year when the nursery is closed to children.

Our nursery is a wonderful environment to work in, where we care about the whole team. Your responsibilities will include planning, preparing and cooking nutritious meals. You will also be responsible for working towards and maintaining a 5 star rating and will assist with yearly inspections from Environment Health and Safety Officers.

Responsibilities



Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen. Collaborate with the nursery team to ensure timely meal preparation and service Assist in menu planning and development Monitor inventory levels of food supplies, report any shortages and create a weekly shopping list for a four week menu
Skills

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen setting Previous kitchen experience, preferably in a childcare environment Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask Strong communication and written skills
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Freelance

Pay: 13.00-14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
