Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Deputy Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting the overall management of our childcare facility, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. The Deputy Manager will assist in the daily operations, lead staff, and engage with parents while promoting high standards of care and education.

The setting is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children. The successful applicant will be required to undergo enhanced DBS clearance, join the DBS update service, and complete thorough pre-employment checks, including obtaining satisfactory references for the past 5 years. The nursery is committed to safer recruitment practices.

Responsibilities



Support the Nursery Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of the nursery, including budgeting, financial planning, Invoicing, and Funding.

Plan and implement the Bright Star curriculum, ensuring it is engaging and age appropriate.

Ensuring that the Nursery functions to a good standard, which is recognised internally and externally. With the vision to provide exemplary practice.

Plan and implement an engaging and age-appropriate curriculum. Which provides children with awe and wonder.

Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations.

Train, supervise, and support staff, encouraging their professional development

Ensure the nursery environment is safe, fun, and nurturing for children

Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress

Support the child admission process, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and maintained.

Address parental concerns promptly and professionally.

Regularly review nursery policies and procedures to ensure they are consistently embedded within everyone's practice.

Ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained throughout the nursery.

Understanding of child development theories and practices.

Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and Practices.

Ability to plan and organize children and staff to ensure effective deployment.

Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations and maintain high standards in internal audits.

Support Nursery Managers in ensuring the nursery complies with health and safety, as well as other regulatory standards.

To support the Nursery to function daily at a good standard, which is recognised internally and externally. With the vision to provide exemplary care and practice.

Support parental concerns, maintain children's records, and ensure the nursery provides high-quality childcare and education.

Ensure that the nursery provides a supportive and stimulating environment that fosters children's learning and growth.

Support the recruitment and training of new staff, ensuring that safer recruitment practices are robust, and staff retention is high.

Patience and empathy when dealing with children's varying needs and behaviours, as well as maintaining a nurturing and inclusive environment

Oversee the smooth running of the setting in the nursery manager's absence

Qualifications



Proven experience in a management or leadership role within a childcare setting. Full and relevant level 3 (or higher) in early years Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding Strong background in early childhood education or childcare, with relevant qualifications preferred. Experience working with children, demonstrating a clear understanding of their developmental needs. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. A nurturing attitude towards children combined with strong organisational skills. Knowledge of nursery regulations and best practices in childcare.
