Job Description

Playdays Nursery Farnborough are seeking a deputy manager to embed high quality practice across all aspects of the early year's provision. The Deputy Nursery Manager will support the Nursery Manager in providing professional leadership and management of the nursery and its staff, deliver high quality standards of care and education for all children, identify areas for development and implement new ideas and practice.

The successful candidate will have robust knowledge of the EYFS, strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. The individual must be highly motivated, have a positive attitude towards working with children, and be ready to lead and manage team of staff.

We are looking for someone with management/supervisory experience. The nursery is offering a competitive salary, further career development and continual support.

A passion for working with children aged between 6 months and 5 years A positive and friendly demeanour A commitment to the highest possible standards of safety and safeguarding Clear and professional communication skills The latest knowledge of the EYFS Excellent organisational skills A friendly personality with a flexible and calm approach

Details about the role:



Full time position (40 hours a week) Friendly team Opportunities for further training and self-development The nursery is open Monday to Friday from 7.30 am to 6.30 pm - 51 weeks per year. Rotating shift pattern within opening hours.

Responsibilities and Duties



Ensuring health, safety and well-being of the children at all times Overseeing the smooth running of the nursery and help to lead the staff team to deliver high quality practice within the nursery Supporting the Nursery Manager with Office based duties. Promoting positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues Being able to manage the Nursery in the absence of the manager Supernumerary position

Qualifications and Skills



Level 3 or above qualification or equivalent (minimum 2 years) You should have a working knowledge of the EYFS Knowledge of safeguarding young children Have experience of planning and implementing activities Leadership skills Experience of managing teams The ability to recognise, promote and share good practice
