We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the overall management of our facility, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children. This position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a passion for early childhood education. The Deputy Manager will assist in overseeing daily operations, staff management, and the development of educational programmes.
Duties
Assist the Manager in the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards.
Provide leadership and support to staff, fostering a positive team environment.
Develop and implement engaging educational programmes that cater to the needs of children.
Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding their children's progress and wellbeing.
Ensure the safety and welfare of all children in the facility at all times.
Conduct regular assessments of staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, scheduling, and reporting.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Act as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator for the setting, leading on the identification, assessment, and support of children with additional needs.
Experience
Proven experience in a management or leadership role within a childcare or educational setting.
Experience working with children, preferably in a nursery or early childhood education environment.
Strong knowledge of childcare regulations and best practices.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Qualifications in childcare Level 3 NVQ or above
SENCO experience is preferred
