As a Deputy Manager, you will be an inspirational leader and able to maintain and develop highly effective staff relationships, ensuring all staff members achieve and deliver the very best possible standards, in an inclusive, innovative and supportive environment. You will be a leader in assessing and recording children's progress and achievements. By implementing effective systems of observation, you'll ensure no milestone goes unnoticed, and every achievement is celebrated.

Some of your responsibilities as Deputy Manager will include:



To lead the nursery team ensuring that all children are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play and learning experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development. To nurture every child in in your care providing consistency, innovation and excellence, igniting curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. To ensure that all the company Health and Safety policies and procedures are put into practice. To deputise for the nursery in the absence of the manager. to support the manager in preparing for and leading the nursery team during inspections by regulatory bodies and to implement any recommendations. To induct, support and mentor new staff, carry out staff supervision meetings, conduct regular staff assessments, recognising training needs, monitoring training and developing teamwork. Whilst his role is room based, some time will be dedicated to working jointly with the manager to support in the leading the nursery.

You will need to have the following qualifications, training and experience:



You'll hold a relevant childcare qualification, level 3 minimum. To find out what quals count visit https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-qualifications-achieved-in-england You will be an experienced Room Leader, Third in Charge or a current Deputy Manager within a nursery setting and be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills. You must hold the right to work in the UK. A sound knowledge of child protection procedures. A customer service approach, being willing to go above and beyond for families. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. The ability to plan and organise workload. Detailed knowledge on child development and early learning. The ability to work well with other children care professionals.
