Job Description

Scallywags Day Nursery in Oakham currently have vacancies for Early Years Practitioners, that are ideally qualified to at least Level 2 in Childcare, preferably Level 3. We are looking for qualified staff members, who are looking for either full-time or part-time hours.

At Scallywags we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of day care and nursery education from 6 weeks to 5 years. We recognise what an important role we play in each child's development. Most of all, we want our children to be happy, confident and secure.

A Qualified Early Years Practitioner is required, to:

Provide Children with a safe, secure and stimulating environment Plan, organise and implement a programme of activities in line with the EYFS framework to meet the needs of the children within their age group Ensure observations/ evaluations are regularly completed and records are kept up to date Operate a keyworker system and liaise with parents/carers about their child's development and encourage them to participate in their child's learning and development Work as part of a highly motivated and professional team
Ideally you will need to:

Hold a full and relevant early years and childcare qualification at Level 3 or above (such as NVQ Level 3 in CCLD, Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People's Workforce), or equivalent qualification Have gained experience within a nursery setting Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS Good knowledge and understanding of OFSTED policies and regulations Good knowledge of Child Protection, Safeguarding and Health & Safety policies and procedures Ability to work well within a team as well as using own initiative Have good communication skills
In addition you will need to be enthusiastic, reliable, flexible and creative, with the commitment to provide the highest standards of childcare.

The working hours are between 16 and 40 hours per week, shift patterns from 7:30am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.

All employment is offered subject to the completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, 2 written references and a 3 month probationary period.

Pay: 12.30-12.70 per hour
