is recruiting for an Early Years Practitioner qualified to either Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare with a minimum of 1 year's experience in the role. The ideal candidate will also hold a Paediatric First Aid Certificate, although training will be provided as necessary.

The Stacey Pre-School opened in April 2022 and is managed by The Stacey Community Association, registered charity number 278364 . We are an accredited Forest School and operate as a blended Forest School and traditional Early Years setting from The Stacey Community Centre. Our Ofsted rating is GOOD.
We are a term-time only setting open for 38 weeks of the year from Monday-Friday: 9.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. providing early years childcare for children aged from 2 years of age.
It is our mission to be an exemplary provider of quality early years education and childcare for the children of our community and to encourage children to explore, learn, grown and make friends from within a nurturing, enabling and friendly environment.

The Role:
We are wanting to recruit an Early Years practitioner initially on a
1 year fixed term contract
for
16 hours per week
to start on
Wednesday 3 September 2025
. Working hours are Monday-Thursday: 9am - 1pm.
As a Pre-School Practitioner, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. To maintain clear understanding and engagement with the issues and policies regarding child protection processes, safeguarding and working with vulnerable children.
2. To maintain a high level of understanding and familiarity with all Stacey Pre-School policies and procedures.
3. To maintain a good working knowledge of 'Tapestry' for which training will be provided.
4. To help the Pre-School Manager and the Pre-School team in developing, maintaining and presenting a rewarding and engaging EY curriculum that makes full use of the outside spaces and supports the Pre-School's positive environmental ethos within a child lead free-flow setting.
5. To form strong and supportive relationships with the parents, children and the Pre-School team.
6. To maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the EYFS, Ofsted requirements and relevant current legislation.
7. To maintain a commitment to inclusive and non-discriminatory working practices with children, families, colleagues and the wider local community.
8. To liaise positively with all industry personnel as may be required.
9. To maintain a positive working relationship with The Association's employees and volunteers.
10. To ensure that all child observations are recorded.
11. To liaise with staff/individuals providing side by side care or follow-on learning i.e. as they move to reception year.
12. To ensure all resources, furniture and equipment are packed and locked away at the end of each session.
13. To report any damage to/repairs needed to: premises, resources, equipment, etc to the Pre-School Manager at the earliest opportunity.
14. To support the Pre-School Manager in maintaining a safe and secure environment at all times.
15. To attend regular supervisory and staff meetings.

Interviewees must be able to provide evidence of their Childcare qualifications and of any other relevant training e.g. Paediatric First Aid Training. We will require 2 x satisfactory references before we will be able to make any offer of employment; 1 x referee should be your current or most recent employer.
For the successful applicant, following a probationary period, continued employment with The Stacey Community Association will be conditional on satisfactory completion of a full DBS check with enhanced lists and the candidate joining the DBS update service.
