At Mini Munchkins Nursery, we provide a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment where babies can grow, explore, and thrive. We are passionate about high-quality care and early years education, and we are looking for a dedicated Baby Room Lead to join our friendly team.

Role Overview:

As the Baby Room Lead, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day running of our baby room, ensuring every child receives exceptional care and development opportunities. You will support your team, build strong relationships with parents, and create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for the youngest members of our nursery.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the baby room team, providing guidance, support, and training as needed Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to support each baby's development Ensure the welfare, safety, and well-being of all children at all times Maintain accurate records, including daily reports, observations, and care routines Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates and guidance Promote a positive, inclusive, and stimulating environment

Requirements:

Level 3 or above in Early Years Education and Care (or equivalent) Proven experience working in a nursery setting, preferably with babies Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Passion for supporting early childhood development Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and health & safety regulations

Ideal candidate needs to hold an NVQ level 3 in childcare, hold a Paediatric first Aid, Enhanced DBS check (but we can do this). Safeguarding certificate and relevant training in a nursery.

We are a 48 week setting which means staff get 2 weeks paid holiday at Christmas and 2 other weeks during the year.

Our new member of the team will work 4 days a week 8am to 6pm and work Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Wednesdays off.

This is for maternity cover in our Baby room as a room lead. There is a chance that after the 12 month contract to a permanent position.

Start date: December/January 2026.
