Overview



We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Floor Manager to oversee the Deputy Manager and support the Nursery Manager in the smooth running of daily operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring high-quality care and education within a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.

The Floor Manager will liaise closely with the Nursery Manager, undertaking a range of office-based duties to support efficient operations and allow the Manager dedicated floor time for quality observations, staff mentoring, and practice leadership.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills, along with a genuine passion for early years education and child development.

Key Duties



Oversee and support the Deputy Manager, ensuring effective communication and smooth coordination between management and room teams. Liaise with and provide operational support to the Nursery Manager, undertaking office-based duties such as staffing, compliance checks, and administrative tasks. Supervise and support staff members on the floor, providing leadership, direction, and guidance to maintain high standards of practice. Oversee daily activities and routines, ensuring all children receive appropriate care, attention, and engaging learning opportunities. Support the implementation of early learning and childcare programmes that promote children's holistic development. Communicate effectively with parents and carers, building strong relationships and addressing any concerns with professionalism and empathy. Ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate standards and all health, safety, and safeguarding requirements. Assist in the recruitment, induction, and ongoing training of staff to build a confident, competent, and motivated team. Foster a positive and inclusive nursery culture that supports children's social, emotional, and cognitive growth.

Requirements



Proven leadership or management experience within an early learning and childcare or nursery setting. Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills. A sound understanding of early years planning and pedagogy and regulatory requirements. A proactive and supportive approach to leadership, with the ability to motivate and guide others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. A valid driving licence is desirable. A genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to creating a nurturing, high-quality learning environment. BA childhood studies.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 30,000.00-32,000.00 per year
