Brand new nursery in Brighton

Pumpkin Patch is a family-owned company that operates six nurseries in the South Coast. Our purpose is to ensure children have the best start in life through outstanding education and care. This role requires a minimum NVQ Level 3 in Child Care and Education or equivalent, recent experience working in a Good or Outstanding nursery setting as a Lead or Senior, a strong and confident understanding of the EYFS and Ofsted requirements as well as the welfare standards, ability to coach and mentor staff, especially new staff and students and a genuine passion for giving children the best possible start in life

The Role of a Pumpkin Patch Lead Educator



A pedagogical lead is a highly skilled childcare professional with responsibility for the day-to-day running of their room. They perform an important role caring for children, maintaining a high-quality, stimulating learning environment, supervising staff and imparting their knowledge and skills to others. They are creative and reflective leaders who work closely with the Management Team to implement new ideas and continually improve practice. They will work closely together alongside the Atelierista, seniors, educators and apprentices to be an Outstanding Nursery.

To contribute to the creation of a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children. Use their knowledge of the areas of learning and deep understanding of how children learn to provide rich, varied and imaginative experiences that enthuse, engage and motivate children. To be responsible for the welfare of all children in your designated room, organising systems to ensure consistent, high-quality care. To be responsible for organising transition plans for all new children and those moving rooms. To deploy staff and resources effectively, maintaining ratios in your room whilst supporting other rooms/nurseries. To be a designated safeguarding lead amongst other senior members of staff.

Job Type: Full-time

Job Hours: 40 Hours Per Week (between 7.30am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday)

Salary: 30,160 - 32,240 (FTE) depending on experience and qualification.

Location: New nursery Brighton BN1 (Under 2s room and Over 2s room)

UK Level 3 Early Years Education Qualification or above (required)
