Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education and committed to creating a nurturing environment for children. As a Nursery Assistant, you will support the daily activities of the nursery, ensuring that children receive high-quality care and education in a safe and stimulating setting. The role is to support the room covering the staff lunch breaks between the hours of 10am-3pm Monday to Friday all year round. This is not a term time only position. This will also include studying towards your childcare qualification should you wish to.

Duties

Assist in the planning and implementation of educational activities that promote children's development in line with early years frameworks. Provide attentive care to children, ensuring their safety, well-being, and emotional support throughout the day. Engage with children through play, encouraging their social skills, creativity, and independence. Maintain a clean and organised nursery environment, including tidying up after activities, meal times and ensuring all equipment is safe for use. Observe and record children's development, reporting any concerns to senior staff as appropriate.

Experience

Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is highly desirable. Strong communication skills in English are required to interact with children, parents, and colleagues effectively. A genuine drive to support children's growth and development within a nursery setting is crucial.
