Pumpkin Patch is a family-owned company that operates six nurseries in the South Coast. This year, all of our nurseries in Brighton and Hove have achieved an Outstanding rating from Ofsted, which we are so excited about! We are looking for a Lunch Cover who shares our passion for the Reggio Emilia and Scandinavian Forest School approaches.

The Role of a Pumpkin Patch Lunch Cover



A Nursery Lunch Cover supervises the children while staff have their lunch breaks. They are responsible for providing high-quality care for children and ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. They collaborate with the nursery team to create a nurturing and calm atmosphere that promotes children's development. Lunch Cover staff must always ensure the safety and protection of children.

Roles and Responsibilities



To contribute to the creation of a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children To be vigilant and protect children from harm or abuse, report any concerns immediately, and follow child protection and whistleblowing policies. To be aware of all Pumpkin Patch's policies and procedures and ensure these are adhered to. To assist with the provision of a stimulating range of age-appropriate activities. To be professional and a good role model to the children at all times. To be reliable and punctual, maintaining staffing ratios at all times. To communicate effectively, sharing information, participating in meetings, inductions and supervisions. To respect and value all colleagues, children and parents, encouraging a positive and diverse working environment. To uphold the positive image of the nursery and ensure confidentiality at all times.

Job Types: Part-Time, Permanent

Job Hours: 20 Hours Per Week - Monday to Friday 10.30am-2.30pm

Salary: 12.60 per hour

UK Level 2 or 3 Early Years Education Qualification (preferred)
