We are hiring someone who is confident with under 5's and preferably has early years experience! Supporting nursery children over the lunchtime period.
Purpose of the post: To work in conjunction with the rooms, under the guidance of the Room Managers, working in the Dining Hall, ensuring the children have their lunchtime meals, supporting the children and staff during the lunchtime period.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Set out all tables, benches / chairs, plates, bowls, cups and cutlery on clean tables before the children come into the room
2) Take delivery of the food from the catering staff and ensuring appropriate foods are not below the temperature threshold as identified in the SFBB guidance
3) To dish out the food for the children, making sure to adhere to national guidelines for portion sizes
4) To prepare tea time food (cold sandwiches, wraps etc)
Environment
Working under the guidance of the Room Manager(s) to:
1) Ensure the Dining Hall is kept hygienically clean for the children to eat their meals in
2) Ensure the Dining Hall is tidied up after the children have had their meals, including mopping the floor where there may have been spillages
3) Load and unload the dishwasher ensuring the room is left ready for the next group to use
General duties
1) To be aware of all appropriate policies and practices within the nursery.
2) To adequately enforce the security policy
3) To maintain confidentiality of children and families.
4) To take due care of yourself and for others at work.
5) To show effective communication skills at all times, and to ensure a high level of courtesy and respect is always shown to children and parents.
6) To act in a responsible manner towards the children at all times.
7) To follow the code of conduct for the nursery.
8) To maintain a professional appearance at all times, adhering to the dress code as set for each department. Uniform must be worn at all times.
9) To maintain an acceptable level of personal hygiene.

Compassionate, patient, and attentive to individual children's needs
Ability to foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
Driving licence is desirable for transporting children or supplies as required
