At Top Tots, we are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Nursery Manager to join our team alongside the existing manager.
The Manager will be responsible for overseeing the pre-school part of our Nursery catering to up to 60 children each day. Our nursery operates from Monday to Friday, 7.30 am to 6 pm, throughout the entire year, with a weekly commitment of 40 hours.
Our nursery is located at the Mountbatten centre we currently have the capacity for up to 94 children on our roll. The Nursery Pre-school Manager will ensure the provision of safe, high-quality education and care for preschool children, while also ensuring that all legal, statutory, and organisational obligations are met. Additionally, the nursery Pre-school manager will lead and manage staff daily, contributing to the implementation of preschool policies.
Applicants should have a minimum of two years' experience in a management role.
The salary for this position ranges from 32,000 to 36,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
Manage daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Lead and inspire a team of childcare professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Develop and implement educational programmes that promote the physical, emotional, and social development of children.
Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
Ensure the nursery is a safe and welcoming space for children, staff, and visitors.
Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of nursery staff.
Manage budgets and resources efficiently to ensure high-quality care is provided.
Experience
Essential criteria include:
- Experience in a preschool setting in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- A Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare or an equivalent qualification.
- A solid understanding of child development and the needs of children.
- The ability to plan and implement a preschool curriculum, taking into account the SEND Code of Practice, child protection guidelines, and equal opportunities considerations.
- Detailed knowledge of current legislation relevant to early years education.
- Capacity to engage effectively with parents and families to encourage their involvement.
- Competence in leading and managing a team, including conducting performance management processes such as inductions, supervision meetings, appraisals, and setting objectives (with support from another manager as needed).
- A commitment to equal opportunities and an understanding of equality and diversity issues.
- Proficiency in writing clear reports and using computer software.
