We are seeking an experienced and dedicated

Nursery Manager

to oversee the day-to-day operations of our nursery. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, a sound understanding of early years practice, and a commitment to delivering high-quality childcare and education.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, along with a passion for early childhood education. This role involves ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children while also managing staff and engaging with parents.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the nursery team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programmes that promote children's development and learning. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including health and safety standards. Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns. Manage daily operations, including staff scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. Provide support and guidance to staff in their interactions with children, ensuring high-quality childcare practices are upheld. Organise training and professional development opportunities for team members. Oversee the maintenance of the nursery facilities to ensure a clean and safe environment for children.

Essential Requirements

Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent). Enhanced DBS clearance and the right to work in the UK. A minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership role within an early years setting. Level 2 Food Safety qualification. Proven experience of managing nursery operations and staff teams. Excellent knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding practices. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Desirable Skills and Experience

Paediatric First Aid (training can be provided if not already held). Knowledge of Makaton, BSL, or other communication tools. Experience in managing allergies and special dietary requirements. A valid driving licence.

Experience

Proven experience in management or leadership roles within a childcare setting is essential. Strong background in early childhood education or related fields is highly desirable. Experience working directly with children in a nursery or similar environment is required. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with staff, parents, and children.
