Job Description

Railway Children Nursery opened in 2006. We cater for children aged from 3 months to 5 years. We very much believe Our Nursery is a family and strive to provide a home from home life; ensuring children receive outstanding quality childcare.

We are seeking to appoint a passionate and qualified Nursery Nurse.

Candidates for this role must hold a minimum Level 3 qualification or equivalent.



Candidates must be enthusiastic, hard working and highly motivated to make a positive contribution to our busy Nursery environment.

Key Objectives -

To work as an active member of the Railway Children team to create and develop an attractive, secure, safe and stimulating environment for our children.

To support positive relationships with our children and their families ensuring the high quality care which we offer is promoted.

Duties and Responsibilities -

To be aware of, and comply with, all Nursery Policies and Procedures.

To be aware of current legislation, within the guidelines of The Early Years Foundation Stage Principles.

To ensure confidentiality is maintained within the Nursery.

To have an understanding of child development and childcare; and to value each child as an individual. Offering all children equal opportunities with regard to their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background.

To plan and contribute to a programme of activities suitable for the age ranges of our children and follow the guidelines of The Early Years Foundation Stage. To liaise with the SENCO and ensure IEPs are developed.

To observe each child's progress and report on achievements, looking for progression and continuity; and to participate in a 'Key Worker system' by taking a responsibility for a specific number of children.

To undertake a shared responsibility throughout the Nursery for all health, safety, hygiene and cleanliness.

To participate as required in children's meal times, serving and acting as a role model, and ensuring all allergies and special diets are identified and supported.

To attend staff meetings, events and fundraising activities as arranged.

Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Principal.

All successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced criminal records check (DBS) and full pre-employment checks

Candidates must be able to work between the hours of 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From 12.25 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week
