Overview

We are seeking 2 dedicated and compassionate Nursery Nurse to join our team (1 person for each of our sites in Rustington), providing high-quality care and education to young children in a nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and the ability to foster a safe and stimulating atmosphere for children to learn and grow. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with parents, staff, and other professionals.

Responsibilities

Provide attentive care and support to children in the nursery setting, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning and development in line with early years frameworks. Maintain accurate records of children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns, communicating effectively with parents and guardians. Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive environment that encourages children's social, emotional, and physical development. Assist in managing daily nursery operations, including maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the nursery space. Support children during meal times, ensuring they receive appropriate nutrition while promoting healthy eating habits. Foster strong relationships with children, encouraging their independence and self-esteem through positive reinforcement.

Skills

Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential. Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues. A nurturing attitude combined with patience and enthusiasm for working with young children is crucial for success in this role. Qualifications

NVQ level 2 or 3 in childcare (essential) Paediatric first aid (desirable as training can be given) Safeguarding knowledge and training (desirable as training can be given)

Hours

Position is Monday - Friday 12:00 - 15:00 Term time only an option for the right candidate
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 18 per week
