We are a welcoming local daycare facility seeking a dedicated
Nursery Nurse
to join our team. As a key member of our setting, you will play a vital role in supporting the care, learning, and development of the children in our care. The ideal candidate will have solid experience working in early years settings, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and monitor children's physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development, sharing observations with parents and carers.
Support the development of children's independence by teaching daily living skills such as handwashing, dressing, and self-care routines.
Plan and facilitate individual and group learning activities that promote physical, cognitive, and emotional growth.
Provide a caring, inclusive environment that supports children's well-being and sense of security.
Ensure children receive nutritious meals and snacks in line with the setting's nutritional guidelines.
Supervise children at all times, including during outdoor play, and promote safe, age-appropriate activities.
Encourage good hygiene practices and educate children on keeping themselves safe and healthy.
Communicate effectively with colleagues and parents to support a consistent approach to learning and development.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to learning journals in accordance with nursery policies.
Adhere to safeguarding and health and safety policies at all times.
Requirements:
Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years Education (or equivalent).
Previous experience working with children in a nursery, preschool, or daycare setting.
Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Strong observation, planning, and organisational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, warm, and enthusiastic approach to working with young children.
A strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and responsibilities.
Term Time only working patterns
Desirable:
Paediatric First Aid certification.
Knowledge of SEN and inclusive practices.
Experience with digital learning journals or observation platforms.
