As a Nursery Nurse, you will play a vital role in the early development of children within our care. You will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and social development of young children. Your experience with children and knowledge of early childhood education will be essential in supporting their learning and growth.
Duties
Provide high-quality care for children aged 0-5 years, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning through play, fostering creativity and curiosity.
Observe and assess children's development, maintaining accurate records to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns.
Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive team environment, sharing best practices and supporting each other in daily tasks.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery setting, ensuring all equipment is safe and suitable for use.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
You must have a warm smile, that will make every child's face light up, each and every day.
?You must be able to laugh out loud at jokes you don't understand.
?Throughout the course of a day you will have many varied roles; if a child requests you to be the Captain of a ship, you will be the best Captain you can be!
?You must be able to multitask and clean as you go so your children enjoy a space that is exciting while safe.
?If a child requests you take them to the bathroom, and you're just heading out for your lunch break, you will happily take them by their little hand, and spend an unduly amount of time in the bathroom, singing them songs and telling them stories before finally jumping up and down and clapping with praise and excitement when they eventually have a long awaited wee on the potty!
?The ability to sing in tune is not necessary, however the ability to sing out of tune, in front of a crowd, is essential!
?You must have enough love to be able to offer warm hugs, as and when required.
?Possessing the skills required to rapidly count the heads of moving small people is of the utmost importance.
?As too, is having eyes in the back of your head!
You must be comfortable with entering public places on your way home from work, with unknown substances on your clothing!
?Pretending to eat playdough creations realistically is required, as too is drinking numerous cups of pretend play tea.
?You must have the ability to read a ten page fairytale, upside down, with at least five interruptions per page!
?And finally, you must be prepared to engage in lots of fun activities, be prepared to get messy-but it really is all worth it!
?When you walk into our Nursery, you instantly become a Superhero, to our babies and children, you need to be their everything-and you must wear your hero cape with pride.
