8am - 4pm Monday -Friday

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Nursery Operative to support the day-to-day operations of our plant nursery. This is a practical, hands-on role focused on tree and shrub care, stock organisation, order picking, and despatch, helping to ensure plants are prepared and delivered to a high standard. You will work closely with the wider team to keep the nursery running smoothly, ensure plants are well maintained, orders are prepared accurately, and customers receive a professional and helpful service.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine daily tasks as directed, including planting, potting, stock clearance, weeding, and bed maintenance Pick plant orders accurately and efficiently to meet despatch schedules Prepare orders for despatch, ensuring correct labelling and presentation Organise and maintain plant stock locations to keep the nursery tidy and efficient Clean and prepare growing beds to support ongoing plant production Assist with plant deliveries when required Maintain a professional and courteous manner when interacting with clients and members of the public Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment Support colleagues in daily nursery operations and share best practice where appropriate

What We're Looking For

Essential:

A flexible approach to work with a positive, "can-do" attitude Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions Physically fit and capable of manual work Reliable and trustworthy Team player

Highly Desirable:

Full UK driving licence Plant, shrub, and tree knowledge Experience working in a horticultural nursery

Desirable (but not essential):

A horticulture qualification, or working towards one First Aid at Work certification PA1 & PA6 qualifications
