We have previously advertised this position, but we will require a further member to join our team from January 2026.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and dedicated member of staff to join our team at Walney Central Nursery.

We are a PVI setting, situated in the centre of Walney Island. We have been a big part of our community for over 53 years.

Our team all share the same values and ethos; working together to nurture and inspire all the children within our care. Children are at the heart of everything we do, so we are looking for individuals to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.

Each of our rooms have access to their own outdoor area, we have full waterproofs for all the children, so they access the outside regardless of the weather. We provide staff with dry robes to wear outside for extra comfort as you will be accessing outside daily regardless of the weather conditions. We feel that this is very important for well-being for staff and children.

We will require you to act as a key worker to a small group of children, ensuring that each child's needs are recognised and met, through robust planning within each room. We love when staff come up with some outside of the box planning ideas that we know will challenge the children. We have high expectations for all our children.

This position would be 30+ hours per week. Hours required will be discussed at the Interview. This could be a full-time role or two part time roles, so don't be put off applying if you think this might be the fit for you.

We are looking for a suitably qualified childcare practitioner to join our team. We require you to have a Level 2 or 3 qualification and must have at least two years' experience working with children 0 - 4. Our hourly rate will be starting at

12.61

depending on qualification and this will rise further once your probationary period ends.

The position is full time as we are open all year round 50 weeks, we have a two-week shutdown at Christmas for everyone to enjoy Christmas with family.
