Job Description

Level 3 or above CCLD (Early Years Childhood Care, Learning and Development) qualified nursery practitioner needed for our busy, friendly nursery team. Experience of Curriculum for Wales preferred.

Starting rate 28,500 per year, then depending on experience. At least 1 year's experience in another nursery or childcare setting required. We encourage ongoing professional development for all our staff, which is paid for by the nursery.

Main duties:

- Provide children with a safe, warm and stimulating environment

- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities with observations and assessments in accordance with child development guidelines from the new Curriculum for Wales

- Assisting with feeding and toileting

- Working as a team with other staff members to ensure smooth running of daily routines and activities

- Ensuring best practices in Early Years and high standards are adhered to through strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFP and knowledge and understanding of CIW regulatory policies and procedures.

- Employ positive behavioural approaches to build children's self-esteem, confidence and mutual respect

- Communicate clearly and efficiently with other team members and families

Your skills:

- Level 3 CCLD or equivalent

- Team player with a positive, can-do attitude and real enthusiasm for caring for and working with young children

- Strong communication skills both verbal and written

- Good organisational and motivational skills

- Initiative

- Strong knowledge of and genuine interest in EY child development; knowledge of the new curriculum

- Thorough knowledge and clear understanding of CIW and EY policies and requirements, particularly Safeguarding , Health & Safety and risk assessment
