We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills whilst making a positive impact on children's lives. The Nursery Practitioner will work closely with colleagues to ensure high standards of childcare and education are maintained in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
Supervise children during playtime, meals, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times
Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages children's curiosity and independence
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines
Support colleagues in managing the nursery environment efficiently and effectively
Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's development and behaviour
Assist in organising nursery events and activities to enhance children's learning experiences
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and nursery policies at all times
Contribute to the ongoing professional development of the team through sharing best practices and participating in training sessions
Requirements
Proven experience working with children within a nursery or childcare setting
Strong management and leadership skills to oversee daily operations effectively
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant authorities (e.g., Level 3 Childcare Qualification or equivalent)
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending external activities
Organised, proactive, and able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
