About Us
Kingston Day Nursery is a well-established and respected early years setting in Kingston upon Hull. Since opening in August 1995, we have proudly provided high-quality care and education for children aged from 6 months to 5 years. We operate Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, throughout the year (excluding bank holidays and staff inset days).

The Role: Nursery Practitioner
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Nursery Practitioner to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the learning, development and wellbeing of the children, while maintaining a safe and engaging environment.
This position requires a practitioner who is confident in being a key worker and who can deliver purposeful, age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Positions and Hours Available
Part-time:
Minimum of 20 guaranteed hours per week (with opportunity for more)
Full-time:
35-40 guaranteed hours per week
Term-time only and all-year-round positions available
Please note: working hours will be scheduled on a rota basis between 8:00am and 5:00pm. Flexibility will be considered for the right candidate.
Essential Requirements
A minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Playwork
Experience working in a busy day nursery setting
Experience as a key worker to a group of children
Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their early development
Must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom
Desirable Criteria
3 years' experience in a nursery or similar early years setting
GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
Additional CPD or safeguarding training
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Create a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports children's development
Ensure high standards of care, hygiene, and safety are maintained at all times
Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality learning experiences in line with the EYFS
Maintain accurate records and assessments of children's progress
Act as a key worker to a group of children, building positive relationships with families
Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed
Communicate effectively with parents, carers and colleagues
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, parent evenings and nursery events
Take responsibility for a room or area of the nursery when required
Uphold the values and professional reputation of Kingston Day Nursery at all times
Additional Information
A full enhanced DBS check will be required before appointment, in line with Ofsted regulations
Two satisfactory references are required before employment can commence
A 7-week probationary period applies, during which performance will be assessed through the Kingston Day Nursery induction process
