We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about child development and experienced in managing and caring for children within a nursery setting. The role requires effective communication abilities to work collaboratively with colleagues and families.
Duties
Planning and delivering age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education standards
Supervising children during playtime, meals, and rest periods to ensure their safety and well-being
Organising daily routines to foster a structured yet flexible environment conducive to individual needs
Maintaining accurate records of children's progress, behaviour, and attendance
Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement personalised care plans for children requiring additional support
Communicating regularly with parents or guardians regarding their child's development and any concerns
Ensuring the nursery complies with all health and safety regulations, including safeguarding policies
Assisting with the organisation of nursery events and activities that encourage community involvement
Qualifications
Proven experience working with children within a nursery or childcare setting
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred
Leadership experience in a childcare environment is desirable but not essential
Ability to organise tasks efficiently while maintaining a caring approach towards children and colleagues
