We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and early childhood education to children in our nursery setting. The Nursery Practitioner will play a vital part in supporting children's development, ensuring their safety, and creating a positive learning atmosphere.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote early childhood development in line with curriculum guidelines
Supervise and support children throughout their daily routines, including play, meals, and rest periods
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children at all times
Observe and record children's progress, sharing updates with parents and colleagues as appropriate
Assist in the organisation of nursery activities, outings, and special events
Support the training and mentoring of new or less experienced staff members
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and nursery policies
Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and external professionals to support children's needs
Skills
Proven experience working with children within a nursery or childcare setting
Strong management and leadership abilities to organise activities and oversee staff effectively
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices
Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and team members
Childcare qualifications recognised within the UK (e.g., Level 3 Early Years Educator) are desirable
Experience with managing behaviour and supporting children's individual needs
Valid driving licence is advantageous for organising outings or travelling between sites if required
