Purpose of the Role

To provide high-quality childcare and learning experiences for children aged 0-5, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). To ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports every child's development.

Key Responsibilities1. Childcare & Education

Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities linked to EYFS. Support children's learning, development, and individual next steps. Observe and record progress through learning journals. Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.

2. Safeguarding & Welfare

Ensure children are always safe, supervised, and protected. Follow safeguarding and child-protection procedures. Carry out risk assessments and maintain hygiene and safety standards. Support daily routines (meals, toileting, sleep, nappy changing).

3. Communication & Teamwork

Build strong relationships with parents/carers and give daily feedback. Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive team culture. Attend training, staff meetings, and professional development sessions.

4. Record Keeping & Compliance

Complete observations, assessments, and progress tracking. Follow all nursery policies and regulatory requirements (EYFS, Ofsted). Maintain confidentiality and GDPR standards.

Person Specification

Essential:

Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification Knowledge of EYFS Understanding of safeguarding Good communication and team skills Caring, patient, and enthusiastic

Desirable:

Paediatric First Aid Experience in a nursery setting SEN knowledge

Pay: 26,000.00-30,000.00 per year
