We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. Responsibilities
Plan, organise, and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote learning, socialisation, and development.
Supervise children during playtime, meals, rest periods, and outdoor activities to ensure safety at all times.
Foster a warm and welcoming environment that encourages children's curiosity and independence.
Maintain accurate records of children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns to inform ongoing development plans.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of daily nursery operations.
Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any relevant issues.
Support the induction and mentoring of new staff members or trainees as part of management responsibilities.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and early childhood education standards.
Requirements
Proven experience working with children within a nursery or childcare setting.
Strong management and leadership skills to guide both children and team members effectively.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development practices.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Childcare qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent is preferred.
Valid driving licence is desirable for roles involving transportation or home visits.
A caring attitude with patience, organisation skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
