Job Overview



We seek a dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join our team in a vibrant nursery setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and providing excellent care to young children. To work as a key person and an active member of the pre-school team under the direction of the owner. To provide safe, high quality education and care for children from 18 months old which meets the individual needs of children attending the setting.

Responsibilities



1. To assist delivering the curriculum with reference to Early Years Foundation Stage EYFS.

2. To adhere to and contribute to the setting's policies and procedures.

3. To assist in setting up the equipment for the session both indoors and out, daily risk

assessment and to help tidy away. To ensure the hall is clean, tidy and hoovered when equipment is put away.

4. To act as a key person, ensuring the children's emotional needs are being met, the next steps are being met, assisting the children with personal needs (toilet and nappy changing) and ensuring each child's needs are recognized and met. To use the tablet supplied by Lakeside to upload photos, videos and observations ensuring the children's development is monitored and tracked.

5. To advise the pre-school owner of any concerns e.g. over children, staff issues, parents.

6. To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulating play experiences. To teach Big Lakeside children the language Spanish language in age-appropriate short lessons.

7. To ensure that children are kept safe and that you understand when to follow child protection procedures.

8. To actively participate at staff meetings and supervision meetings.

9. To attend training courses as required and to share information with all of the staff. To fully participate in in-house training led by another staff member.

10. To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families, staff and Pre-School, which is acquired as part of the job.

11. To promote the Pre-School to current parents and potential customers. We never make negative comments.

12. To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Pre-School owner, in accordance with the setting's planning.

Experience



- Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting

- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, Additional spoken languages, French, Italian or Spanish.

- Qualifications in early childhood education or childcare would be advantageous

Pay: 12.50 per hour

GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
