Nursery and Preschool 0-5 yrs

We provide all children with a happy, healthy, stimulating environment that is safe and secure. We will provide a dedicated approach that is child-centered, encouraging each child to expand their own level of self-confidence, creativity and individuality, whilst feeling happy, relaxed and safe. Within the setting we will enable children to develop positive social relationships with the adults caring for them, with other children and the community as a whole. We will work in partnership with parents to help meet family needs. We are a parent committee led Nursery and pre-school, a registered charity and members of the pre-school learning alliance. Staff are also welcome to join the committee meetings.

Our Pre-school opened in 1982 in the St Day Community Centre and moved to its present setting at the St Day and Carharrack Community School in 1999.

Location: Sunny Days Nursery and Pre School



Hours: 30 hours



We are currently recruiting for a qualified Level 3 (preferred) Nursery Assistant to support the learning and play of children aged 0-5 years within our setting.

The primary focus of the role is to deliver a range of high quality creative and developmental nursery activities in line with policies and practice of the Nursery that meet standards and regulatory requirements. You would be allocated a key group of children and would be responsible for ensuring that their needs are met developmentally.

Having a interest in running a forest school session

You would be required to continue development with training throughout the year which may take part outside of your usual working hours.

We are a huge part of the community in which we are set and maintaining this link is very important to us so we would expect involvement within events held.

We are looking for someone that is a dedicated team player.

We hold regular monthly staff meetings where we share ideas and provide support to staff.

Essential skills, qualifications & Experience (Not limited to):



Qualification in childcare, Level 3

Knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage

Experience of working with young children (1 year Preferred)

Strong knowledge of Ofsted standards, safeguarding, child protection and early years legislation and health and safety.

Available to work between the hours of 8am and 5.30pm

Please note, all roles are subject to an Enhanced DBS and Pediatric First Aid certification. All personnel will be required to subscribe to the DBS Update service once the DBS has been applied for.

Job Type: Full time flexible.to include one early start and a late finish per week. 5.6 WKS holiday per annum,

Pay per hour for level 3: 12.21
