JOB SPECIFICATION

POST:

To work 5 regular days (between Monday to Friday) The nursery is open from 8.30 to 5.30. This post is for a childcare practitioner to work flexibly across across the 3 rooms - the baby room, toddlers and the pre-school. Although the candidate will not initially be given any key children responsibility, they would ideally be comfortable working across all three age groups and able to understand the planning process. Candidates wishing to consider an apprenticeship will also be considered.

The hours can be agreed to be flexible, however preferred candidate would be able to work 9-3:30 or 5:30, Mon-Fri. The listed pay is pro-rata, based on full time hours.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

:

Ideally Level 2 or above in Childcare, but other strong candidates will be considered

GENERAL:

Any person who is applying for or who has been appointed a position at Blossom Trees Day Nursery, should be able to demonstrate that they fulfil the following criteria

*It is essential that the person has a sound basic education, is suitably qualified and/or has had previous experience of working with young children (placements will be taken into account). They should be prepared to attend training courses when necessary.

*It is essential that the person has an understanding of children's needs. They need to be able to form good relationships with parents and other staff.

*It is essential that the person is of friendly, caring, non-judgemental and helpful disposition, and that they have a flexible approach showing open-mindedness and patience.

*It is essential that the person has the ability to build relationships, to work as part of a team and to encourage others to work to their full potential.
