Job Description

Located in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent, our Community Nursery offers a nurturing, family-like atmosphere. We provide staff with an extra week's paid holiday after five years of service, an additional week off at Christmas during our dedicated training week and a welcoming, supportive environment. The Nursery is conveniently connected to the Community Centre, giving access to a wide range of services and facilities for staff and families alike.

Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team. This role is essential in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 0-5 years. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to early childhood education, ensuring that each child's individual needs are met while promoting their development through play and structured activities.

Duties



Create and implement engaging educational programmes that cater to the developmental needs of children. Foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere for children and their families, encouraging open communication. Supervise daily activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in your care. Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting positive interactions among children. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance the nursery environment. Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development, communicating findings with parents as necessary. Drive initiatives that promote early childhood education principles within the nursery setting.

Requirements



A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education or Childcare is essential. Demonstratable experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting. Strong leadership abilities with a passion for managing and guiding young learners. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Ability to engage with children at their level, fostering an inclusive environment for all. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to drive initiatives within the nursery. Knowledge of child development theories and practices is advantageous.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Apprenticeship

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 37.5 per week
