Job Summary:

As a Nursery Room Leader, you will oversee the daily operations of your designated room, ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of all children in your care. You will lead and support a team of nursery practitioners, ensuring the delivery of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum and maintaining the highest standards of care and education.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and support a team of practitioners. Ensure all staff adhere to nursery policies and procedures.

Planning and Assessment: Plan and implement a stimulating and varied educational program. Monitor and assess children's development and learning.

Safety and Welfare: Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of children at all times. Conduct risk assessments and maintain a safe and clean environment.

Parent Partnership: Build positive relationships with parents and carers. Communicate effectively about their child's progress and any concerns.

Compliance: Ensure the room complies with all regulatory requirements and nursery policies. Keep accurate records and reports.

Qualifications:

Essential: Level 3 qualification in Early Years (CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3).

Preferred: Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years working in a nursery setting, with some supervisory or leadership experience.

Skills and Attributes:

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- A deep understanding of the EYFS framework.

- Passionate about early childhood education and child development.

- Ability to plan and deliver engaging and age-appropriate activities.

- Good organisational and time management skills.

- First Aid certification is desirable.

Additional Information:

- Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9.00 to 3.30

- Salary: Negotiable (the present rate for room leader)
