As a Room Leader, you will be responsible for leading and managing a group of children, ensuring that their individual needs are met, while fostering a stimulating and safe learning environment. You will work closely with parents, staff, and management to ensure high standards of care and early education.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, support, and mentor a team of nursery practitioners within the designated room. Create and implement age-appropriate activities and learning plans for the children in your care, ensuring that they meet their developmental milestones. Supervise the children in your care, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and happiness at all times. Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents, providing them with updates on their child's development and achievements. Undertake key worker responsibilities for a small group of children, conducting regular observations and assessments of their progress. Ensure that the nursery room is always safe, clean, and organized, maintaining high standards of hygiene and health and safety. Lead by example in promoting positive behavior and supporting the development of good social and emotional skills in children. Support the planning and preparation of resources and activities that enhance children's learning. Collaborate with other team members and management to ensure the smooth running of the nursery and the delivery of high-quality early years education. Assist with staff training and development, helping to maintain a positive and professional team environment.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (or equivalent). Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting - at least 6 months as a Room Leader - with a proven track record in a leadership or supervisory role. A solid understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and the ability to implement it effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with both children and adults. Strong organizational and time-management skills. A passion for working with young children and supporting their development. Knowledge of safeguarding practices and child protection policies.
