Room Leader



We are looking for a Room Leader to join our exciting, fun- loving and dynamic team. If you are looking for a new setting in fabulous village surroundings, supportive colleagues, then we need you.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -



1. To be a part of the senior Management team with key holder responsibilities, working under the direction of the manager and deputy and deputise for them as and when require

2. To support the aims and objectives of the setting and support the management team in providing a high-quality provision for children from birth to five years.

3. To provide high standards of childcare and providing a safe, caring environment to enable the emotional, social and educational development of children, through individual attention and group activities.

4. Assist in the leading and implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and any other legal/statutory frameworks.

5. To lead, coach and support Nursery Educators / Apprentices of whom responsible for.

Main Duties:



To work flexibly as part of the management team, assisting and supporting colleagues. To be responsible for the day-to-day planning, delivery and monitoring of the room they are in charge, working in line with the EYFS requirements. To ensure that the staff, volunteers, and resources are utilised effectively. To be responsible for providing high quality teaching and learning, ensuring that staff offer appropriate stimulation and support to the children. To be responsible for the day-to-day management of the key person system within the room that they are responsible; ensuring that all child profiles are kept up to date and reports are written, in accordance with the EYFS requirements. To be responsible for monitoring the quality of teaching; to participate in staff appraisals. To assist in the development and support of other staff members by communicating effectively, sharing knowledge and experience, delegating tasks appropriately, identifying training needs, leading meetings, inductions and 1:1's - with support from the manager. To act as a key person to a small group of children and ensure their individual needs are reflected in the planning of routines and activities. To liaise regularly with parents/carers about their children's needs, interests and progress and encourage them to be involved in the setting. To supervise the children where appropriate and to protect them from dangerous or harmful situations. To share any child protection concerns immediately with the Designated Safeguarding Leads. To ensure that the environment is safe for children, staff and others. That equipment is safe, standards of hygiene are high, health and safety procedures are always implemented. To be aware of children's special educational needs and ensure staff support these children effectively, working with the settings SENDCO. To ensure records are properly maintained, e.g. daily attendance register and accident records. To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff which is acquired as part of the job. To liaise with the local authority, Ofsted and other professionals as necessary and ensure that all legal and statutory requirements are implemented. To adhere to the setting's policies and procedures and to be involved in their regular review. To attend all meetings as required by the manager and any conferences or training events required to keep up to date with current good practice. To reflect on a regular basis to identify areas for continual improvement -to feed into the settings termly development plans. Key holder responsibilities - opening / closing the setting. To undertake any other duties as deemed necessary by the setting manager.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: -



Ideally 2 years' experience working within an early years setting, with a sound understanding of the EYFS. Minimum Level 3 or above in any recognised childcare qualification.
All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

This person must be a team player and be able to have lots of fun! Flexibility is essential. You will also need to be friendly, caring, approachable, honest, trustworthy and have a love for being outdoors.

HOURS OF WORK: -



Up to 40 hours per week between 8 am and 6 pm

RATES OF PAY: -



From 13.50 per hour.
