Job Description

We are seeking a confident, organised and passionate Room Leader to join a busy nursery providing early years education and care for children from birth to 5 years old. Conveniently located with excellent transport links, the setting offers a safe and stimulating environment where children enjoy a wide range of activities including science, cooking, yoga, reading and outdoor exploration. As a Room Leader, you will be at the heart of day to day operations in your room, setting standards, supporting your team and making a real difference in children's development and learning.

Key Responsibilities



Lead and inspire a team of practitioners to deliver high quality care and education Plan and implement engaging activities based on the EYFS and children's individual needs Monitor and support staff performance, offering guidance and feedback Ensure the room runs smoothly, maintaining structure, routine and a safe, stimulating environment Build and maintain strong partnerships with parents and carers Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and nursery policies are always followed Maintain accurate and up to date observations, assessments and learning journals Support new staff and students within the room Attend and contribute to team meetings, training sessions and planning reviews

Requirements



Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Early Years or above Previous experience in a nursery setting Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development Experience in a supervisory or senior role such as Senior Practitioner or Acting Room Leader Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills Calm, positive and professional approach Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and health and safety standards Right to work in the UK
