Overview
We are seeking a warm, enthusiastic, and qualified Nursery Room Leader to join our team at Eveline Day Nursery School to cover break time. This is a vital role in the daily life of the nursery, providing a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow. With a long-standing reputation for excellence in childcare, we are looking for someone who shares our passion for early years education and child development.
Responsibilities
Take a lead role in your assigned room, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate environment for all children.
Act as a key person to a group of children, building strong relationships with them and their families, and observing, assessing, and recording their development.
Plan and deliver creative, age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
Promote children's independence, curiosity, and emotional well-being through purposeful play and routine.
Ensure all safeguarding procedures are followed and that children are kept safe at all times.
Support and guide other staff members in your room, modelling best practice and maintaining high standards of care and professionalism.
Liaise with the management team and parents to share updates and insights on children's progress and daily experiences.
Maintain accurate records of children's learning and development and contribute to regular assessments and reports.
Create a warm and inclusive atmosphere that reflects the values and diversity of our nursery community.
Skills and Experience
NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education (or equivalent).
Proven experience working with young children in a nursery or early years setting.
Excellent understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
Confident leadership and communication skills, with the ability to guide a small team.
Passionate about early years care and creating a positive, playful learning environment.
Strong organisational skills, reliability, and a proactive, nurturing attitude.
Professional and respectful communication style with children, families, and colleagues.

Shift patterns: Monday to Friday, 7:30am-9:30am (2 hours) , 11.30-2.30pm (2 hours) or 4.30-6.30pm (2 hours)
