Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Room Leader or Practitioner to work for an established Nursery based in Billericay. This role is pivotal in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have experience in childcare, particularly within a nursery setting, and will be responsible for leading a team of childcare professionals while ensuring the highest standards of care and education are maintained.

Duties - Room Leader

Oversee the daily operations of the nursery room, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for children. Plan and implement engaging educational activities that promote early childhood development. Manage and support staff, providing guidance and leadership to ensure effective teamwork. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns. Maintain accurate records of children's development, attendance, and incidents. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements within the nursery. Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their social, emotional, and cognitive growth.

Duties - Practitioner

Job Purpose:

To provide a safe, stimulating, and caring environment for children aged [0-5 years], supporting their development through play, planned activities, and tailored care in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning through play. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care at all times. Observe, assess, and record each child's progress and development. Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. Support children with personal care routines (feeding, toileting, hygiene). Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Work in line with safeguarding procedures and report concerns as required. Contribute to the planning and review of the curriculum and learning environment. Participate in staff meetings, training, and development opportunities. Promote inclusive practice and equal opportunities for all children

Skills

Proven experience in a nursery or childcare setting is essential. Strong understanding of early childhood education principles. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Leadership abilities to manage a team effectively. Capability to drive initiatives that enhance children's learning experiences. Ability to engage with children in a playful yet educational manner. Organisational skills to manage daily routines and administrative tasks efficiently.
