Job Description

We are currently seeking a confident, organised, and passionate Room Leader to join our growing early years team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified childcare professional ready to take the next step in their career by leading a team and creating a vibrant, nurturing learning environment for young children.

As a Room Leader, you will be at the heart of day-to-day operations in your room--setting the standard, supporting your team, and making a real difference in children's development and learning.

Key Responsibilities



Lead and inspire a team of practitioners to deliver outstanding care and education Plan and implement engaging activities based on the EYFS and individual children's needs Monitor and support staff performance, offering guidance and feedback where necessary Ensure the room runs smoothly, maintaining structure, routine, and a safe, stimulating environment Build and maintain strong partnerships with parents and carers, providing regular feedback on their child's development Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and nursery policies are always followed Maintain accurate and up-to-date observations, assessments, and learning journals using the nursery's digital system Support new staff and students within the room, contributing to a positive team culture Attend and contribute to team meetings, training sessions, and planning reviews

What We're Looking For



We're looking for a reliable and proactive individual who is confident leading a team and passionate about delivering exceptional care and education.

Essential:



A full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (or above) Previous experience working in a nursery setting Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development Experience in a supervisory or senior role (e.g. Senior Practitioner, Acting Room Leader) Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills A calm, positive, and professional approach Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and health & safety standards
