The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery SENDCo to lead and coordinate SEND provision across the nursery. This is a key role within our setting, ensuring that all children with additional needs receive high-quality, tailored support.

Responsibilities

Act as the nursery SENDCo, overseeing SEND provision in line with the EYFS and SEND code of practice. Identify, assess, and support children with additional needs. Develop and review individual support plans and strategies. Work closely with key persons, parents/carers and external professionals. Provide guidance, training, and support to staff to promote inclusive practice. Maintain accurate records and documentation. Support smooth transitions for children within the nursery and school settings.

Qualifications

A recognised Early Years qualification (Level 3 or above) SENDCo qualification (or willingness to work towards). Sound knowledge of the EYFS and SEND code of practice. Experience of working with children with SEND in an Early Years setting. Strong communication and organisational skills A caring, patient and proactive approach.
