About this Role
Are you passionate about Early Years education? Do you love supporting young children as they grow, learn and thrive? Plaistow Hill Primary and Nursery School is looking for a dedicated Nursery Assistant to join our friendly and nurturing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to support children aged 2-5 in our vibrant Early Years setting. You'll work alongside experienced staff under the guidance of the Nursery HLTA and EYFS Lead, helping to deliver engaging play-based learning and supporting children's wellbeing and development.
The working pattern is:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday - 08:30 - 11:30 and 12:00 - 15:00
Tuesday and Thursday - 08:30 - 11:30
Key responsibilities:
Support the social, emotional, and educational development of children aged 2-5
Lead small group activities and contribute to daily play sessions
Assist with monitoring, observing and assessing children's development
Maintain a safe, clean and stimulating environment
Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
Contribute to planning and evidence for Ofsted and EYFS requirements
Key skills and experience:
Has an NVQ Level 2 in Childcare (or equivalent) and GCSEs in Maths and English (A-C)
Has recent experience working in an Early Years or nursery setting
Understands the EYFS curriculum and child development
Is flexible, caring, and confident working as part of a team
Can show initiative, communicate well, and is keen to support young learners
