Team Leader

The Role:



As a

Team Leader

, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of your room and helping to maintain high standards of care and education throughout the nursery. This is a hands-on, practice-based leadership role where you'll lead by example, inspire your team, and contribute to creating a warm, stimulating environment for children and families.

Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will help guide and support practitioners within your room, ensuring consistency in routines, learning experiences, and safeguarding practices. You'll also play a part in shaping a positive team culture where staff feel valued and motivated, and children are supported to thrive.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practitioner or current Room Leader who is ready to take on more responsibility and grow as a leader within a supportive and forward-thinking nursery group.

Key Responsibilities:



Lead the day-to-day operations of your room, ensuring high standards of care, education, and safety Support the planning and delivery of an engaging, child-led curriculum in line with the Curriculum for Wales (CfW) Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported Model best practice in interactions, routines, and learning experiences Mentor and guide your room team, helping to build skills and confidence Ensure all safeguarding, health & safety, and compliance procedures are followed consistently Build strong, trusting relationships with families through regular communication and involvement Support with daily administrative tasks such as observations, record-keeping, and contributing to audits or inspections Work collaboratively with the wider nursery team to share ideas and maintain a high-quality setting

What We're Looking For:



Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Level 4/5 qualification, or willingness to work towards Good knowledge of CIW regulations, safeguarding legislation, and the Curriculum for non-maintained settings Confident leadership skills, with the ability to guide and support a small team Strong organisational and communication skills Welsh speaking is desirable but not essential Driver with access to own vehicle and willingness to obtain business insurance Genuine passion for delivering high-quality early years education and care
