Are you a passionate and experienced early years professional ready to take the next step in your career? At Blooming Olives Day Nursery, we're excited to welcome a Third in Charge to our new and dynamic team.

In this key leadership role, you'll work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of our setting, delivering outstanding care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years. As Third in Charge, you'll lead, mentor, and inspire your team to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.

What You Will Be Doing

As Third in Charge, you will help lead the day-to-day running of the nursery and ensure every child receives the best care and learning experience. Your main tasks will include:

Having a strong knowledge of the EYFS and sharing this knowledge with your team. Observing how children are learning and growing and helping to meet their individual needs. Communicating effectively with children, families, and staff, and maintaining clear records. Ensuring the nursery follows all safeguarding, health, and safety policies to keep everyone safe. Leading and encouraging staff to provide excellent care and education in a warm and safe environment. Supporting your team's growth through guidance and advice. Assisting the Nursery Manager with daily tasks such as answering phones, conducting nursery tours, taking payments. Taking charge when the Manager is absent and confidently opening and closing the nursery when required. Setting a good example by demonstrating high standards of care and education in both group and one-on-one settings. Planning activities that match each child's interests and needs. Creating engaging and inspiring indoor and outdoor spaces for children to explore and learn. Supporting staff development through regular meetings and constructive feedback. Adhering to all company policies and government regulations. Collaborating with parents, professionals, and the Local Authority to support children's needs and improve the nursery. Taking on additional management tasks when needed and supporting the wider nursery team.

What We're Looking For

Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years Education Strong understanding of the EYFS and child development Experience in a senior nursery role (Room Leader, Third in Charge, or similar) Confident leadership skills with the ability to mentor and support others Excellent communication and organisational skills A warm, positive, and proactive attitude Knowledge of safeguarding and health & safety procedures (DSL experience is a plus) Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check

Full-time, permanent position 40 hours per week between 7:30 am and 6:30 pm Shift patterns may include 8-hour or 10-hour shifts Monday to Friday Work location: In person

Pay: 31,342.00-35,850.00 per year
