Your Role as Third in Charge
As Third in Charge, you will be an essential part of our leadership team, ensuring the smooth daily running of the nursery. You will support the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager, step into leadership responsibilities in their absence, and guide practitioners to deliver outstanding early years experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and inspire a small team within your room, ensuring a high-quality learning environment
Be a role model for best practice, helping to maintain an engaging and
stimulating
atmosphere
Support staff development through mentoring, coaching, and
guidance
Assist with nursery operations such as opening and closing, staff rotas, and parent
visits
Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and the wider nursery team
Ensure compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, and health and safety
procedures
What We're Looking For
Minimum Level 3 qualification in childcare (or equivalent)
At least three years of experience in a nursery setting
A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
Passionate about early years education with excellent communication and leadership skills
Experience in a senior or leadership role (preferred but not essential)
