Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Labourer / Sales Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the beauty and health of our plants, ensuring a welcoming environment for our customers. This position involves various tasks related to plant care, customer service, and retail operations. A passion for horticulture and gardening is essential, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The position will involve working outdoors. 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis.

Applicant must be keen, enthusiastic and hard working.

Responsibilities

Assist in general nursery work and the care and maintenance of plants, including watering, pruning, and fertilizing. Support landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and weeding. Engage with customers to provide exceptional service and assist with their gardening needs. Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately while providing cashiering support. Stock shelves and ensure that all products are displayed attractively through effective merchandising techniques. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the nursery area to create an inviting atmosphere for customers. Utilize retail math skills. Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Previous experience in landscape maintenance, or horticulture is preferred but not essential. Strong communication skills. Proficient in cash handling procedures and retail sales practices. Excellent organisational skills to maintain a tidy workspace. Forklift experience preferable but not essential Spraying licence preferable but not essential A passion for gardening and an eagerness to learn about plant care techniques is essential.
