Nursing Assistant - The Mountains Care Home

: Libanus, Brecon, Powys, LD3 8EN

Pay

: 13.85 - 14.90 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Contract

: Permanent, Full-Time

Hours

: 8am till 8pm or 8pm till 8am | 36 hours per week | 12-hour shifts (days and nights)

Rota

: Rolling rota with every other weekend | Published approx. 2 months in advance

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Nursing Assistant to join the dedicated team at The Mountains Care Home. Nestled in the scenic Brecon Beacons, The Mountains is a specialist nursing home providing round-the-clock care to adults aged 65+ with dementia, Alzheimer's, and associated mental health conditions. Your Role

As a Nursing Assistant, you will support residents with their day-to-day clinical and personal care needs, working closely with the nursing team to uphold safety, dignity, and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

Assisting with personal care, hygiene, and mobility Supporting the nursing team with clinical tasks such as monitoring vital signs, pressure area care, wound dressing, catheter care, and accurate documentation Providing support with medication (where trained and appropriate) Promoting independence, choice, and comfort at all times Monitoring and promptly reporting changes in residents' health Helping maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment Contributing to handovers and the implementation of care plans

What We're Looking For

Previous experience working in a nursing or dementia care setting (EMI) is essential Experience supporting individuals with dementia and complex care needs Calm, reliable, and confident in responding to varying needs Strong communication and teamwork skills NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care Willing to work both day and night shifts, including every other weekend
