An exciting opportunity has arisen for a caring, compassionate and enthusiastic Band 3 Nursing Assistant to work within our Regional Affective Disorders service on Gibside Ward, St. Nicholas Hospital.



The Regional Affective Disorders Service (RADS) is one of a limited number of specialist/tertiary level affective disorder services in the UK providing both out-patient and in-patient care for patients with difficult to treat mood disorders.



An opportunity has arisen for one Band 3 Nursing Assistant to gain valuable experience working within our inpatient service on Gibside Ward at St Nicholas Hospital. Gibside is a 10 bedded mixed unit that provides specialist care for those receiving treatment under RADS who require an inpatient stay. All patients are planned admissions with pre-defined assessment periods and interventions. These interventions may include, diagnostic assessment, complex medication regimes not possible in an outpatient setting, none-standard treatments beyond existing guidelines that require careful evaluation, therapeutic group work and/or healthy living / eating.



We are looking for highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic individuals who are interested in developing their knowledge and skills in this highly unique and specialist service.



They will need to possess excellent communication skills and be able to contribute effectively to the existing multi-disciplinary team.



They work within a multi-disciplinary team assisting in the development and implementation of collaborative, needs based care plans.



They support the team in providing excellent and effective person centred, nursing care.



They are actively involved in the health and wellbeing of staff and service users.



They are visible and accessible to patients, families and carers working together to ensure efficient, effective and caring service.



They contribute to achieving all performance indicators, essential standards and quality outcomes



They provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity
