The Role



We are seeking a Nursing Associate to join our friendly and supportive general practice team. This is a key role within primary care, working alongside registered nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT).

The principal purpose of the role is to support registered nurses, enabling them to focus on more complex clinical care, while the Nursing Associate delivers high-quality, evidence-based care to patients under appropriate supervision.

Key Responsibilities



The Nursing Associate will:

Deliver high-quality, compassionate, holistic and person-centred care under the direction of a registered nurse or other registered professional Provide routine clinical care in line with evidence-based practice, NICE guidance and National Service Frameworks Undertake clinical tasks including: Wound care, dressings, ulcer care and Doppler assessments Recording and coding clinical observations (BP, pulse, respirations, temperature) using SNOMED codes ECGs, venepuncture, flu vaccinations and other procedures (following appropriate training and competency sign-off) Support minor operations and contribute to immunisation, vaccination, screening and public health programmes Promote health and wellbeing, including NHS Health Checks and opportunistic health promotion Accurately maintain contemporaneous patient records and process pathology results as required Communicate proactively with MDT colleagues and contribute to meetings and integrated care delivery Recognise professional boundaries and refer patients appropriately Act as a chaperone and uphold safeguarding responsibilities for adults and children Support and supervise trainee Nursing Associates, healthcare assistants, apprentices and learners where required Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, QOF, QIPP and incentive schemes Participate in incident reporting, learning from near-miss events and supporting complaint management when requested Maintain a clean, safe and effective working environment Complete all mandatory training and participate in annual appraisal and ongoing performance review
You will also be expected to demonstrate initiative, creativity in problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous professional development.

What We're Looking For



Qualified Nursing Associate with current NMC registration Experience working in primary care or a similar healthcare setting (desirable) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Commitment to high standards of patient care, safety and confidentiality Willingness to develop skills and competencies in line with service needs

Additional Information



Subject to service need and room availability, the Nursing Associate will also be required to support administrative and reception functions. This may include providing cover to assist with the smooth running of the practice, ensuring continuity of service for patients. These duties will be appropriate to the role, fully supported, and undertaken without detracting from clinical responsibilities, helping the practice to use space and workforce resources effectively while maintaining high standards of patient care and service delivery.

Pay: 14,000.00-16,149.00 per year

Expected hours: 18 - 21 per week
