Nursing Associates can assist in the delivery of care to patients, with a multiple combination of conditions alongside the Learning disability diagnosis, mental health issues, physical health issues and complex needs.
Support patients with all aspects of the nursing process and be able to assist the team in on-going assessment to formulate the treatment pathway , planning, management and evaluation of care.
To plan and organise own activity, prioritising workload appropriately in order to make the best use of time and feeding back to the team as appropriate
Recognise safeguarding concerns for vulnerable adults and to report any problems or raise concerns to appropriate professionals.
Demonstrate understanding of caring for patients with particular conditions for example mental illness, learning disabilities and autism.
To administer medications in accordance and with NMC code and Trust policies.
Brooklands Hospital is a specialist service, providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to people with a learning disability.
We are seeking to recruit Band 4 Nursing Associates to join us in delivering high quality, compassionate care on our Male Low secure unit.
The unit has 13 beds for men with a learning disability who have may have offended and require treatment in hospital, the patients may have transitioned down from our medium secure unit or come into hospital directly from the community. The focus of the Unit is to provide patients with treatment and learning opportunities which will minimize the impact of their learning disability and other diagnosis. The treatment will address their offending behaviour, through recognising and managing their own risks and equip them with meaningful skills for future life. This will be achieved through providing a therapeutic environment and treatment which fosters trust and encourages self-esteem.

Relevant qualification of Registered Band 4 Nursing Associate
All patients should have their needs met through holistic assessments through the planning, implementation and evaluation of appropriate treatment planning/ pathways.
To work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide a co-ordinated person-centred approach to care.
To assist in the provision of the complex assessments for patients with physical health needs such as dysphagia or Epilepsy alongside the learning disability.
